One of Saline's oldest landmarks is the historic Mills house at 300 W. Michigan Ave. Built in 1843 by John Haywood, one of the city's early settlers, the house is now owned by Miss Vesta Mills. The colonial-classical 10-room brick residence has been in the Mills family for 86 years. The home is situated in a grove of ancient maple and ash trees.
