Above are shown two teams going through training exercises for the big horse pulling contests to be held Sept. 1 and 2 at the Washtenaw Free Fair.

The team of lightweights, at the top, is being driven by their owner F. H. Ticknor, former county treasurer. Passengers on the stone boar, who are lending their respective weights to the warming-up exercises are: Don Ticknor, George McCalla, H. S. Osler, Cecil Graichen, Robert Carrod, Eugene Collier, George Liptow, Laurence, Stein, Elmer Blaisdell, Louis Blaisdell, Ben Stein, Arthur Lowery and Edward Bass.
