Hoover Workers Walk Off Jobs
These Hoover Bearing Division workers were the first to exit the company's 5400 S. State plant after UAW-CIO Union Local 38 declared a strike at 10 a.m. today. The workers are among 467 union members affected. The walkout came about the time a hard, wind-driven snowfall hit the area. About 100 workers immediately set up picket lines outside the plant. The company declined to comment on the strike.
