A "modern Stradivarius" of the clarinet is Frank L. Kaspar of 1715 Morton Ave. Kaspar is one of this country's foremost experts on the technical aspects of woodwind instruments. Though he is retired, musicians constantly demand his services. He is shown here making some of the minute measurements necessary to produce a perfectly fitted clarinet mouthpiece, needed to achieve the accurate tone quality demanded by great woodwind players.
