Alfred White, 15-year-old boy living at 906 Packard, was the happiest boy in Ann Arbor Saturday night. For Alfred was crowned champion of the Ann Arbor Soap Box Derby and will represent Ann Arbor in the All-American finals at Akron, O., on Aug. 11.
Alfred not only got a big thrill out of winning the race and the title, but he also got a big kick out of receiving the M. E. Coyle trophy which was presented to him by Coach Fritz Crisler as shown in the above picture. He was so excited that he found it difficult to mumble thanks as the Wolverine coach made the presentation.
