Willie Stohrer, 13-year-old boy living at 1432 Barnard Heights, placed ninth in Class B in last year's Ann Arbor Soap Box Derby. He determined to do better this year.
So when he got around to build his car for this year's race he consulted Bob Hahn, last year's city champion, for advice. Willie is shown above working on his steering apparatus while Champion Hahn, wearing the helmet that he used in last year's All-American race at Akron, watches.
Champion Bob is willing to give other boys advice on how to construct a winning car. He thinks that Willie Stohrer has built a real capable racer. The local race will be held Saturday July 27.
