Description
Emil (Bud) Hoppe has a 36-inch pike, weighing 11 1/4 pounds, which he caught on a line in Gallagher lake. Although he caught the big fellow two weeks ago, the fish is well preserved, for it has been frozen into the center of a huge cake of artificial ice. Hoppe was fishing with Karl N. Toney of Ann Arbor. (Ann Arbor News, March 16, 1940)
