Here are the four trophy winners in the Michigan novice tennis tournament which ended yesterday at Palmer Field. The four finalists shown above were survivors of an original field of more than 2,600 novice players who competed in district, regional, city and state tournaments.
Flint had the unusual distinction of placing three players in yesterday's finals. In the top picture [this photo] the three Flint players are Pat Sweeney, left, who won the men's singles title; Miss Virginia Bradford, center, who was runner-up in the women's finals and Don Mooers, right, who was runner-up to Sweeney.
Miss Sally Sessions of Muskegon, the only player to break the Flint monopoly, is shown executing on of her well-played shots which helped her gain the women's singles crown.
