
ANDRES PLAQUE PRESENTED TO JAIL: A bronze memorial plaque paying tribute to the late Jacob B. Andres and purchased from contributions from his associates was presented to the sheriff's department at ceremonies in the county jail yesterday afternoon. The plaque is inscribed: "In memory of Jacob B. Andres, sheriff 1930-40, in testimony of our appreciation for his true and faithful service. Washtenaw county officials, employes, and Board of Supervisors." The plaque was presented to Sheriff John L. Osborn (left) by Mrs. Luella M. Smith, county clerk (right), in the presence of Leigh Beach, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, and Mrs. Leora Andres, widow of the former sheriff, and other county officials not shown in the above photograph. A check for the money remaining from the contributions was given Mrs. Andres by Mrs. Smith.
