A peculiar "smog" effect was apparent during the early hours in Ann Arbor this morning. Caused partially by a calm and heavy atmosphere, together with the city's usual production of home, business and industrial smoke, the entire horizon was thick with the dark pall. The above view, taken at about 8 o'clock this morning, is looking west down E. Huron St. It wasn't long after the sun began to rise, however, that the atmosphere finally stirred and dissolved the "smog."
