SCHOOL LABOR GETS THE SPUDS HARVESTED: Some 50 boys from Ypsilanti Central High school and Woodruff Junior High in Ypsilanti took vacation from class work yesterday to help Lawrence A. Diehr, Ellsworth Rd. farmer, harvest 11 acres of potatoes. Shown filling a bag with freshly picked-up spuds are, left to right, Tom Thompson, jr., Russell Hines and Hugh Berry with Lloyd Ridenour in the immediate background. Farther back can be seen the tractor used in the digging the potatoes which would still be unharvested had it not been for the schoolboys' aid. Farmer Diehr said the youths were willing and good workers. One boy picked up 17 bushels of potatoes during the afternoon.
