Ann Arbor Antiques Market Managers Fred and Margaret Brusher show off one of their own first antique purchases above, a hand-carved American oak desk with hand-wrought iron hinges which they found at the Treasure Mart shortly after it opened. Actually a gun cabinet, it was built in 1870 and purchased by Silent Movie Star Ruth Chatterton for her fiance in England (a "Mr. Brooks" - also a silent screen star). It was later given to Ms. Chatterton's niece, who lived in Ann Arbor, and its authenticity was verified by Ms. Chatterton before her death.
