CHILLING STORY - Cold weather kept the city's playgrounds empty Monday evening. It was a warmly dressed - and literate - soul who strolled through Burns Park. Was he reading Dante's "Inferno?" or Henry Miller's "The Tropic of Cancer?" Considering the drizzle that continues for the third straight day today, "The Winter of Our Discontent" would have been more like it. The dank weather is the result of the same slow-moving front that brought the deadly blizzard to Mt. Hood. We've had a tenth of an inch of rain since Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Low temperatures and drizzle should move out by Wednesday, leaving us with cool - but not cold - weather. Sun and warmth are rumored for the holiday weekend to come.
