Booker T Word, the United States Boxing Association Light Heavyweight Champion, signs autographs Tuesday evening at the Parkridge Community Center for a group of nearly 50 children from Ypsilanti Resource Center Youth Athletic and Academic Skills Development Program. Word, a Willow Run High School graduate, shared his experience of growing up in a rough neighborhood and making the right choices by staying away from drugs to achieve his goals.
