Local Girl Figure Skaters Win Prizes In Detroit Carnival

Ann Arbor's two leading girl figure skaters captured prizes in the Detroit Times Silver and Gold figure skating Derby held Saturday at Detroit.

Miss Betty Jane Courtright won the title in the novice division while Miss Mary Frances Greschke stepped up into the junior division for the first time and placed second to Georgia Lou Rowley of Detroit. Miss Greschke was within one-tenth of a point of the winner in the final score.

Then Miss Courtright and Miss Greschke competed in the doubles of the pair skating and took second to Harry Martin and Laura Jane Brown of Detroit.
