Blake Will Head Kenneth Fox Post
Richard D. Blake of 504 N. Fifth Ave. last night was elected commander of Kenneth Fox post 7433, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is a charter member of the post and has held the offices of adjutant and trustee. He has resided in Ann Arbor since 1932 and is a graduate of Ann Arbor High School.
Other officers elected are James Wilson, jr., of 415 Glen Ave., senior vice commander; Burl Smith, jr., of 1707 N. Main St., junior vice commander; George R. Cromwell of 411 Glen Ave., quartermaster.
Elected as post advocate was John R. Harrison of 1307 N. Main St.; C. W. Miles of 1017 1/2 Catherine St. was elected post surgeon; Hoyd B. Hardwick of 1152 Broadway, chaplain; and C. W. Reed of 701 N. Fourth Ave., T. S. McKaye of 1016 Catherine St., and Curtis Spratt of 409 Glen Ave. were elected trustees.
The new commander states that his main objective during the new year will be to increase the post membership by registering every eligible Negro veteran in Ann Arbor as a member of the Kenneth Fox post.
