A fire which burned a small hole in the roof of the Double D restaurant at 333 E. Huron St. was extinguished by firemen about 8 o'clock this morning. A short-circuit in the wiring of a neon sign apparently started the blaze.

At 2:10 yesterday afternoon, firemen were summoned to the John C. Fritz home at 1610 Morton Ave. when overheated furnace pipes ignited a Celotex covering on the ceiling. Only minor damage was reported.
