A penniless man who ate eight cheeseburgers for breakfast at the Double D restaurant and then borrowed a dime to call the law was jailed by puzzled policemen yesterday.
The man, who gave his name as Robert Davidson, is a janitor for a local bowling alley.
Officers said he called headquarters and told them the waitress at the restaurant at 333 E. Huron St. had a complaint. He was right.
Davidson was assured of meals for the next 10 days when he failed to pay $16.85 fine in municipal court and was sent to County Jail.
