MILAN - Frank J. Fojtik, sr., 71, of 1035 Bacon St., died this morning at Mercy Hospital in Monroe.

Mr. Fojtik was born March 15, 1884, at Veseli, Czechoslovakia, the son of Jacob and Pauline Fojtik. On July 1903 he was married to Anna Ondrovcik in Czechoslovakia.

He came to the United States in 1910 and Mrs. Fojtik came here two years later with her family. They made their home in Byron, O.

In 1920 they moved to a farm in Milan township, Monroe county, where they lived until 1943 when they moved to Monroe. Mrs. Fojtik died on March 15, 1948.

On Dec. 6, 1948, Mr. Fojtik married Mrs. Elizabeth Smetka at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Monroe, where he was a member.

Mr. Fojtik is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Cajke of Monroe, Mrs. Marie Horak of Jackson and Mrs. Lillian Lupini of San Bruno, Calif.; three sons, Frank and Henry of Milan and Ladgo of Wayne; two stepsons, Joseph, Jr., and Chester Smetka, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Joseph, in Czechoslovakia.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Milan. The Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Stevens & Bush Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will be in Marble Park Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home.
