Six attendants in sapphire blue velvet preceded Mary Ann Baker down the aisle as she became the bride of Lt. James R. C. Miller in an 8:30 p.m. ceremony yesterday in the First Presbyterian Church.

The candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Henry Kuizenga.

The bride, daughter of Prof. and Mrs. Dean C. Baker of Longshore Dr., wore a gown of imported Italian silk taffeta with a fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline appliqued with French peau d’ange lace. The full skirt, appliqued with scattered lace medalions, ended in a chapel train. Her fingertip illusion veil was scattered with seed pearls and was held by a tiara of graduated pearls. Her bouquet was of white roses centered with a white orchid.

Six Attend Bride

Mrs. Virgil F. Fairbanks of New York City was the matron of honor. Mrs. Raymond Moore of Detroit, the bride’s sister, Miss Marijane Potter of Royal Oak, Miss Ann Harr of Munith, Mich., and Miss Rosemary Roth of Olivia Ave. were bridesmaids. Miss Karen Baker was her sister’s junior bridesmaid and Patricia A. Miller of Omaha, Neb., the bridegroom’s sister, was the flower girl.

All the attendants wore ankle-length gowns designed with empire princess lines and oval necklines and cap sleeves. Their cascade bouquets were of varying shades from deep red to light orchid and were of heather and pompon chrysanthemums centered with an orchid. Feathered matching headdresses completed their costumes.

The flowergirl wore a light blue crystalette dress with a peter pan collar and cap sleeves. Her headband was of sapphire velvet, and she carried a velvet basket containing pompon chrysanthemums centered with an orchid.

Brother Is Best Man

Dyson Miller of Omaha, Neb., brother of the bridegroom, was the best man.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Dorothy L. Miller of Omaha, Neb., and the late Colonel Reginald C. Miller.

Ushers were Raymond Moore of Detroit, John Higgins of Boston, Mass., John Morrow of Baldwin Ave., Prescott Crisler and Donald Johnston, both of Overridge Dr.

Assisting at a reception held in the Lewis Vance parlors of the church were Mrs. Donald Mills of S. Main St., Mrs. Vernor Cook of Brockman Blvd., Mrs. Walter Roth of Olivia Ave. and Mrs. Walter McLean of Brooklyn Ave.

Miss Connie Blessing of Midland and Miss Sonja Janich of Haven Ave. kept a guest book, and Miss Donna Lickly of Dexter and Miss Ingrid Arnesen of Martin Pl. poured.

To Live in Hawaii

After a trip through the west to California the couple will sail for Hawaii where Lt. Miller will be stationed for three years.

The bride’s traveling costume was a periwinkle blue wool princess-style dress with black accessories and a white orchid.

She was graduated from University High School and attended the University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Her husband is a graduate of Falls Church (Va.) High School and West Point Military Academy.
