Mrs. Alfred F. Conard (center) and Mrs. Charles W. Joiner, members of the League of Women Voters, add the support of Mr. Joiner, associate dean and professor in the University's School of Law, to the League's petition to place a judicial selection and tenure amendment to the state constitution on the November ballot. The League, which seeks to keep "selection of qualified judges free from political pressure," will be soliciting more petition signatures on Thursday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kroger in Arborland and Wrigley Food Stores in the Lamp Post Plaza and on W. Stadium Boulevard, and on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kroger in Arborland and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at K Mart in Maple Village Shopping Center.
