Age 40, son of Leota and Richard A. Nowland, died August 5, 1991 in San Francisco. He was a graduate of Ann Arbor Huron High School, attended Eastern Michigan University, and the Orson Wells Film School in Boston, MA. In San Francisco, he was a member of the Screen Extras Guild and appeared in many film and television productions. Scott was highly talented and found creative expression through gourmet cooking, Bonsai artistry, raising orchids and Japanese gardening. While in Ann Arbor, he was actively involved in theatre, including junior light opera. He is survived by his parents; one sister, Amy Nowland; four aunts, Mildred Bradshaw, Gertrude Blades, and Esther Nowland, all of Ann Arbor, and Mary Williams of Lansing; and several cousins. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 18,1991 at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Christian Church, corner of Hill and Tappan, Ann Arbor, with the Rev. Russell Fuller officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made through Memorial Christian Church and designated for either the Christian Church Family Camp Fund or Wellness Networks.
