Hopeful submitted by kittenkat101 on June 24, 2011, 7:09pm A Raisin in the Sun is a deep, yet heartwarming tale of an African-American family dealing with poverty and the struggle to get out of their tiny house. This play deals with race and how it affects the decisions this family makes. It is beautifully written classic.

Painfully Realistic submitted by toheiichikawa on August 23, 2017, 9:19am The characters in "A Raisin in the Sun" undergo several disastrous events, making the book almost painful to read. Hence, this play speaks volumes about poor black families in pre-Civil Rights America through this cruel realism.
