COMMUNITY REVIEWS

bad description submitted by Jada Lee on July 24, 2015, 7:29am The movie had very little to do with the water wars and much to do about incest and family murder. Disgusting waste of my time

Chinatown submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on August 14, 2015, 4:01am Chinatown is about corruption and greed, maipulation and murder. It's about wealth and power and truth - who can wield these and how effectively. It's about being on one side of that line staring over at the other. A moody, excellent film noir.

One of the best nouveau-noirs. submitted by lisa on July 26, 2018, 4:40pm And I don't like Jack Nicholson.

Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunnaway submitted by ccrose on August 30, 2019, 8:20am Great acting and a story hard to believe at first. Corruption begets a tendency for others to look away.
Dunaway is amazing in her difficult truth she has to tell.
It’s a Shakespearian kind of tragedy that gets put in place in the opening scene as Nicholson is showing a client photos of client’s wife cheating on him in a way that’s just business to Nicholson, sleazy people, sleazy lives. He’ll soon be immersed in all levels of cheats and murderers and his job is to find someone, Dunaway, with truth as her job.. I’ve watched this movie many times just to watch as the worst is coming and it is heartbreaking.

A great movie submitted by SaraP on July 26, 2022, 1:34pm But it's hard to get past the problems w/ the director.
