I love this sweet sad film with this great character and kindness like it is in the world, ... submitted by lisa on July 22, 2018, 2:07am ... where how it is is few and far between, and men are jerks, and the mores of the times are sorely lacking, and it’s a glorious drop of relief to tack ”-wise” onto words or run into a guy like Jack Lemmon is being in this one.

People think Billy Wilder is all It’s a a Wonderful Life slap-happy schmalz, but that film is dark too. Very dark. And grateful for a bit of respite in a kind soul. Like C.C. Baxter.
