COMMUNITY REVIEWS
great action movie submitted by ejmarcash on August 22, 2012, 5:26pm You can't help but root for Bruce Willis' character as he faces obstacle after obstacle while fighting heavily armed terrorists in a building on Christmas Eve. A fun, fast, and thrilling movie.
die hard submitted by a2sue on July 16, 2013, 6:44am this is one of my fave films from the eighties
Die Hard submitted by SBNB on June 18, 2014, 1:00pm It's fine for an action movie. I liked it.
Amazing submitted by cowmooflage on July 25, 2014, 8:33am Love this movie. It's super fun action with silly quips and serendipitous turn of events. Bruce Willis is great
Fun submitted by rgaller on July 23, 2016, 2:52pm It's a fun action movie. My family watches this movie during December almost every year.
Excellent submitted by kelleyc on August 9, 2016, 7:23am This is one of the best Christmas movies ever.
Excellent submitted by ckfinzel on August 8, 2018, 10:07pm I feel like this film spawned a whole genre of action films, and often find myself describing other movies as "Die Hard, but in a [differing location/situation]." You can't beat the original.
Now I Have 100 Summer Game Points. Ho. Ho. Ho. submitted by Meginator on July 14, 2019, 6:48pm In many ways this is a quintessential action film, with plenty of opportunities for Bruce Willis to show off his grit, but I think that the film's emotional grounding is what makes it so successful. John McClane has a cause to fight for, and Willis delivers violent retribution and nuanced inner turmoil in equal measure. Add a spectacular closed setting that constantly ratchets up the suspense, a liberal dose of dry humor, and Alan Rickman's killer performance as a humorless villain, and you've got proof that simple concepts executed well can make for timeless classics. This one still lives up to the hype and stands up remarkably well to repeated viewings.
Definitely a Christmas movie submitted by onpaper24 on August 3, 2021, 9:57pm Good action movie
Classic action movie submitted by sumsaylor on July 17, 2022, 12:01pm What's not to love? A young Bruce Willis at the top of his game, saving hostages, blowing things up, wisecracking with the authorities. And no good action movie is complete without an intriguing villain. Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber is one of the best, with his menacing German accent and cold-blooded chicanery. Set against a Christmas backdrop, this movie will thrill and warm the cockles of your heart.
A Classic submitted by caburr47 on June 23, 2023, 5:40pm Whether or not you consider it a Christmas Movie (I do) it is just still a classic film that deserves a first or rewatch. The hero isn't untouchable, the villain is not despicable and the cast of characters all make this man against the world action movie a hit.
