Wonderful submitted by jrg on November 30, 2013, 2:22pm I loved this book. Go Ruta! She creates a realistic world with believable characters. Meaningful and suspenseful. One of the best books I have read!

One of My Favorites submitted by alumeng.ajl on June 13, 2014, 6:00pm I find this book superior to Between Shades of Grey. The latter receives more acclaim and is more well known, perhaps because of Out of the Easy's touchy topic, but they're both amazing. I just think that Out of the Easy is better. Out of the Easy is spectacular, and very realistic. I adore it.

Her Best Book submitted by monkk on June 30, 2014, 8:55pm I read this because I kinda liked Between Shades of Grey (which I read for AA/Ypsi Reads) and I like stories set in New Orleans. I liked the characters and the story of this book better, very well done.

Really enjoyed this book! submitted by Berryak on August 2, 2014, 7:52am I too read this book after enjoying Between Shades of Grey. I enjoyed this book as much, if not more, than Between Shades of Grey. Loved the characters and that they stuck with me after finishing the book. A good, entertaining read!

One of my Favorites submitted by unknown on June 22, 2015, 1:55pm After reading between shades of gray I read this and I think between shades of gray is still better, but this is still an amazing book.

Such a good book submitted by i'm a blobfish on June 22, 2018, 12:18pm This is a really good book. It's the slice of life kind of book, the main character, Josie, the seventeen-year-old daughter of a prostitute, has to live life deal with her stealing mother and trying to get into college, and on top of that, a criminal is back in town that is out to get Josie.

Lifelike submitted by sydcha on August 2, 2019, 10:33pm With a surprising ease, I was dropped into this book with little knowledge of the community this story is about and completely felt at home. While the plot moves quickly and there’s a lot going on, I enjoyed every bit of this book.
