Local filmmaker Tony Collings shares the story of Kobie, a youth from Ypsilanti who, with guidance from his mentor from the Student Advocacy Center, was able to avoid the school to prison pipeline that could have been his fate.
After the short film, a panel will discuss the ramifications of this pipeline and how we as a community can prevent more young people from taking that path. Panelists include filmmaker Tony Collings, Peri Stone-Palmquist, Student Advocacy Center Executive Director, Kobie's mentor, Anell Eccleston from Washtenaw County and the protagonist of the film, Kobie.
This 16-minute film is not rated. This event is in partnership with the Student Advocacy Center.
