This week features sophisti-pop by Hannah Baiardi, hip-hop from Druzi Baby and Atlas the Kid, comedy-rock from Tom Smith, and a sax-synths-drums improvisation by Bennett / Endahl / Sutherland.

Hannah Baiardi, "Reason"
In March, Ann Arbor singer-pianist Hannah Baiardi released her debut album, Straight From the Soul. (Read our interview with her about the record here.) "Reason" is a brand-new recording, made with fellow U-M alumni Marty Gray and it has a strong Sade vibe. Soulful sophisti-pop.

Druzi Baby, "I J Q S D"
Approachable Minorities rapper and producer Drew Denton is also a super-prolific solo artist, and this Ypsi talent's latest track discusses a career change.

Tom Smith, Arrivederci 2020
The Weird Al of Ann Arbor dropped a 20-track comedy album that kicks 2020 to the curb.

Bennett / Endahl / Sutherland, In the Weeds
This informal Ann Arbor group made its debut wtih Up to Earth three years ago. In the Weeds is the follow-up and its one long track is made up of improvisations from saxophonist Dan Bennett. synth player Matt Endahl, and drummer Dan Sutherland.

Atlas the Kid, "Moscato" b/w "No Fear" and "Pete (I'm Here)" b/w "Thx4Crying"
This violinist, rapper, producer, and songwriter from Ann Arbor released his first two singles this year, including the heavy tune "Pete," which is about losing his friend to suicide. (Trigger warning.)
