Biblio Files: Episode 20 | Washtenaw Reads All American Boys on AADL.TV

Have you read the 2021 Washtenaw Read?

Each week, a few AADL staff members have a brief chat to answer one question – from "What's your favorite classic?" to "What book didn't live up to the hype?" – in just a few minutes. This week we break from that format to have a brief discussion of the 2021 Washtenaw Read, All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely, as part of the larger weeks-long community discussion of this book.

Film Screening | Documented

In 2011, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas outed himself as an undocumented immigrant in the New York Times Magazine.

"Documented" chronicles Vargas' journey to America from the Philippines as a child; his public struggle as an immigration reform activist/provocateur; and his journey inward as he reconnects with his mother, whom he hasn't seen in 20 years. A broken immigration system leads to broken families and broken lives.

This 89-minute 2013 documentary is unrated.
