Program like it's 1980! You don't need a DeLorean to travel back in time. Instead, spend a couple of hours learning how to program in the most popular programming language of the 80s: BASIC! We'll start at the beginning by learning how to operate an 8-bit computer and culminate in making a small game. You'll leave with a greater understanding of our technological heritage along with tools and resources to write your own 8-bit programs.

Learn basic web coding and page layout with HTML and style sheets. If you have never coded before or even if you've never heard of HTML, you will be able to code your own web page with easy instructions and immediate feedback on the screen.

We will explore simple coding projects using the language Python on a Raspberry Pi. This will be a guided tutorial to learn the basics of Python though physical computing (lighting an LED with code), Minecraft, and using a graphics turtle to draw images. Feel free to bring your own Raspberry Pi board to work on if you prefer.

This will be a guided tutorial to learn the basics of game creation with sound and video. Participants will need to have basic computing and typing skills, but no coding experience is necessary. Join us to learn the basics of vector graphics software Inkscape. Attendees will learn design basics and then be able to create and cut out custom 2D shapes and 3D assemblies on the laser cutter.
