Chamber Music Michigan

Enjoy an evening of superb classical music, as Chamber Music Michigan presents a concert featuring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, K. 465 "Dissonance," and Carl Maria von Weber's Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in B-flat Major, Op. 34.

Chamber Music Michigan is comprised of a remarkable line-up of young musicians, committed first and foremost to performing outstanding chamber works in a variety of intimate settings. For this concert, artists include clarinetist Joshua Anderson, violinists Rita Wang and Lijia Phang, cellist Richard Narroway, and violist Zoie Hightower.

World Music and DJing

Join local DJ, graphic design artist, and music enthusiast Brian Alvarez as he explores different music cultures from around the world.

In addition to exploring music of the other countries, Brian will encourage participants to connect with the feeling behind the music. Students will learn how to beat match with an exercise called the "soul clap," an essential skill of any young DJ. Once this technique is mastered you can find the "beat per minute" of any song on the radio.
