This month's walk takes place at Gallup Park. Meet at Gallup Park Boat Launch off Geddes Rd. Bring along a pair of binoculars for viewing basking turtles on the river banks.

Each month we will explore a new park and discover who lives there by focusing on local animals, trees, birds, insects, flowers and more! These walks will be led by a representative from Natural Area Preservation. Open to all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult. Please come prepared to hike for a mile or two on uneven terrain, rain or shine.

Being Bilingual Rocks! is an interactive, one of a kind celebration of love, acceptance and diversity. They weave an eclectic blend of original and traditional songs from Latin America. Kids and families will go on a musical journey with a mix of bossanova, rumba-flamenco, contemporary Caribbean beats, bluegrass twang and humor.

Come celebrate the RHYME AND RHYTHM of African American culture through music, song, storytelling, prose poetry and more. Fun-filled and exciting, this program is designed to educate, enlighten, empower, and entertain audiences of all ages.

Anna Hrachovec is a Chicago-based designer and artist who combines her passions for knitting and characters to create toys, installations and animations that excite people of all ages. What started out as Anna’s hobby in 2007 has grown over the years into a huge imaginary realm called Mochimochi Land – where a cast of creatures of all sizes and types play, fight and occasionally eat each other.

Come one, come all, and swap out your old toys and games for something new to you! You do not need to bring a toy or game to pick one up.

Join Natural Area Preservation and AADL staff for an informative nature walk through one of the city's natural areas, in conjunction with the Diversity in the Outdoors lecture series.
