Storytime with Black Men Read

Join us for a storytime and a hands-on art activity in partnership with Black Men Read! BMR will engage attendees by reading stories, asking questions, listening, and sharing their own personal experiences.

BMR has been uplifting Black men, all children and all communities, through the power of stories from the African diaspora since their founding in 2016. Visit bmrkids.org for more information on this local non-profit.

Junk Journaling

Junk Journaling: Scrapbooking's messier little sibling.

The point of a Junk Journal is to fill a journal with little things that make you happy! Unlike scrapbooking, the final product isn't for others to look at in the future–it's all about making something, right now, with what you have on hand. Of course, if you love what you've made, there's nothing stopping you from showing it off!

Ann Arbor Bicentennial Display: What Do You Love about Ann Arbor?

The library is building a display and we need your help! Come celebrate Ann Arbor's bicentennial by sharing what you love most about the city. Drop in and write a list, draw a picture, or tell a story. The possibilities are endless! We'll provide some prompts and the writing and drawing utensils. When you're finished, you can give it to us for the display or you can choose to take it home.

This project is part of AADL’s commemoration of the city’s bicentennial year.
