GameStart Workshop: Minecraft Programming Basics

What took hours now takes nanoseconds as students direct their passion for playing Minecraft towards developing real-world programming skills in Python. Nothing in Minecraft is more powerful than a bit of critical thinking and some computer code.

This is a deep curriculum, and repeat students are encouraged! They'll be automatically included in our advanced section of the class.

Science Fun with FEMMES

The University of Michigan student group FEMMES (Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering and Science) will bring a variety of hands-on, engaging activities for young students interested in learning more about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) topics.

During this event, common household items will be used to demonstrate experiments in ways such as making licorice DNA, sorting rocks, and playing hospital simulation games to learn about biology, geology, industrial engineering, and much more.

FEMMES is a group of undergraduate and graduate students who are studying various areas in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and who want to encourage younger girls who might be interested in one day doing the same.
