Make cool spider web art just in time for Halloween!
Listen to several stories about thankfulness, and then join us in making a craft!
We will use decorative paper to create cheerful, colorful, customized works of art.
Farmers once grew thousands of varieties of apples. In modern times, most of these old heirloom varieties are extremely rare, and are now grown by only a small handful of farms.
We're taste-testing some fantastic heirloom apples—all grown right here in Michigan! Join us to discover a diverse array of sweet, sour, crisp, soft, gnarly, delicious, and straight-up weird apple varieties!
AADL staff will be on hand to explain a bit of the history of each selection.
Here are the heirloom apples that we will sample:
Pink Pearl
Karmijn de Sonnaville
Grimes Golden
Fearn’s Pippin
Maiden Blush
Roxbury Russet
Hudsons Golden Gem
Sweet Alford
Snow/Fameuse
Calville Blanc
Spitzenberg
Thome Empire

If you've ever thought about writing a novel, join us at the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) Kick Off Party! Hosted by Ann Arbor municipal liaison Hilary Braley, you'll find fellow first-time and experienced writers to get inspired! This event includes light refreshments.
National Novel Writing Month is a non-profit event that encourages teens and adults to tackle the challenge of writing a novel during the month of November. Participants begin writing on November 1 with the goal of writing a 50,000-word (approximately 175 page) novel by 11:59:59 pm, November 30.
Official NaNoWriMo writing sessions will be held at AADL during November, but get a head start and celebrate with this great kick off party!
