Connor Good will lead this hands-on drawing program focusing on the human face rendered in various styles of comics and cartooning.

This introductory program will provide the tools and knowledge needed to carve and paint a small wooden mushroom.

Due to the nature of the tools used in this program it is intended for teens and adults only.

We will go on a short hike to find some natural materials that you can dip in paint and make your own stamp and prints with, including leaves, pine cones, and acorns! Combine different natural elements to make neat patterns and designs.

Learn the basics of how Risograph printing works and how to make a one page mini zine. Zines are self-made little magazines or booklets that can be about absolutely anything! Zines can include writing, comics, collage, art, or anything you can think of. Following the event, we will print your zines on our Risograph duplicator and you will receive copies to share.

Join us for an introductory woodcarving class. In this session we will use carving knives and blocks of wood to create a traditional "old man" face.

Due to the tools required for this class, this program is intended for teens and adults.

Welcome the wonders of spring by making your own colorful butterflies! We will be using paper of all colors and designs along with colored craft sticks to make fluttering butterfly friends!

Jamie is an enrolled member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians based in Traverse City, MI., and will also include a presentation on Anishinaabe artworks, including their own work, and how they communicate their lived experience through art.
