Justin A. Trubey, 72, wholesale and retail confectioner and ice cream manufacturer in Ann Arbor for 26 years, died Saturday afternoon at his home at 436 Third St., after a lingering illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1861, in Defiance, O., he was the son of the late John and Lydia Moore Trubey. He had been a resident of Ann Arbor 26 years, coming here from Defiance. He had been continuously active in the confectionery and ice cream business since coming to Ann Arbor and for the last seven years has been a director of the McDonald Ice Cream Co.
He was a member of Golden rule lodge, No. 159, F. & A. M., Washtenaw chapter, and Trinity Lutheran church.
He is survived by the widow, Sarah; two sons, Cluade and Harold D., both of Ann Arbor; three daughters, Mrs. C. O. Rodgers, Detroit, and Mrs. Harold Simpson and Miss Marguerite Trubey of Ann Arbor; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Ambrose of Defiance and Barevius, Forsythe, Mont.; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Muehlig chapel. Rev. H. O. Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Arbor Crest memorial park. Friends may call at the residence until Tuesday morning. The Masonic order will be in charge of the services at the grave.
