The AADL provides services at no charge to all residents living within the Ann Arbor District Library's service area.

The Ann Arbor District Library serves the city of Ann Arbor and parts of seven surrounding townships with five public locations: Downtown, Malletts Creek Branch, Pittsfield Branch, Traverwood Branch, and Westgate Branch. In addition to books, magazines, music, and video, AADL also offers musical instruments, art and science tools, board games, puzzles, art prints, giant games, and much more for checkout. AADL also offers thousands of online audio and video streams for instant access in the aadl.org catalog.

The Library offers regular events for all ages, including preschool storytimes, baby playgroups, arts & crafts events, author presentations, film screenings, contests, technology labs, and so much more. Each Library has a dedicated kids area with tons of books, places to read and hang out, as well as iPads loaded with apps and games for little kids and big kids too.
