An outrageous story submitted by patricia alvis on March 31, 2014, 5:17pm First you think he's gutsy, if a little cantankerous, as he sets off in his pink slippers. Then you begin to suspect he's not exactly an admirable character. And then you just wait to see what he'll do next, and find yourself laughing out loud. The other characters are equally off-center, in this neatly ironic look at human existence

Very entertaining submitted by amym on August 19, 2014, 12:02pm This was not at all what I expected. The book alternates between his history and his current adventures after he leaves an old-folks home. It's a little like Forest Gump in that he meets all sorts of famous people, but in this book he actually affects the outcomes of things like the atomic bomb, the Chinese revolution. Laugh out loud funny.

Hillarious submitted by jackson.sarah.jean on July 13, 2015, 10:55am I LOVED this book. Such a funny, dry sense of humor kind of book. The first time I laughed out loud was when he was speaking to a decapitated head (I'm not into gory, gruesome stuff). If the author can make that funny, then he's a good author.

Endlessly entertaining submitted by jklaben on June 11, 2023, 8:40pm This book keeps you laughing constantly, but also takes you on the wild adventures of a hundred year old man mixed in with a Forest Gump like retelling of his life. It's fun to get this spin on the last 100 years or so of the world's history.
