Stash Bust!

It's time to clean out the yarn closet at the library! We're bringing all of our leftover balls of yarn, floss, pom pom kits, and stacks of embroidery canvas for you to create whatever you want. Instructions will be available for making friendship bracelets, pom poms, and French knitting, but this is mostly a self-directed event.

Drop Spindle Spinning

Learn to spin your own yarn using a drop spindle. Drop spinning is an ancient craft that uses simple materials to make a spindle that spins sheep's wool or other fibers into yarn. Carol Ullmann from Spun will teach you how to draft fibers and begin to spin them into yarn.

Batik Bandanas

Meghan Navoy from Rosemarine Textiles will guide this workshop, demonstrating how to use wax batik sticks to draw a pattern on a cotton bandana, and then dip the piece into one of three natural dye baths to reveal the pattern.
