Do you enjoy playing board games or putting together a puzzle but have too many on your shelf? Interested in finding a new game for your next game night, or a puzzle for a rainy day? Join us for a Puzzle and Board Game Swap!

Items will be accepted at all locations starting April 1st. Please bring items that contain all of their parts. You do not need to drop off items in order to pick something up.

AACME | Sophy Wong Speaks on Design and Technology

Sophy Wong is a designer, costumer, and maker creating artistic wearable technology. Using digital fabrication techniques like 3D printing and laser cutting, her work highlights the intersection of technology and design for the human body. Sophy has been featured by Adam Savage's Tested.com, Nerdist, Hackaday, Make: Magazine, and Adafruit. Her book, Wearable Tech Projects, is a compilation of 30 tutorials and articles about DIY wearable tech. Sophy documents her work online at sophywong.com.

in·cu·ba·tor | Multi-Media Meet Up

in·cu·ba·tor is a space for technology-based artists and creatives to interact with guest clinicians, workshop performance ideas, receive feedback from peers, and discuss the advancement of mixed-media. This meet-up is a low-pressure and collaborative environment that will give those working in technology-based art and those interested in incorporating technology into their art, a supportive and experienced community by which to bounce ideas and hone techniques.

Anxiety in Adults and Kids: Tips for All Ages

Join Michigan Medicine Department of Psychiatry experts from the child and adult anxiety clinics in this free educational talk.

The speakers will give a short presentation about anxiety, explain how it differs in kids and adults, touch on treatment methods and medication options, and highlight what you can do to calm your own anxiety and help your children cope with theirs.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.

Culinary Historians | Detroit's 1910 Kosher Meat Riot

Due to an ongoing national monopoly on beef, in May 1910 Detroit’s kosher meat prices jumped 250%. To feed their families amid rapid inflation, working-class Orthodox Jewish women fought back, organizing boycotts and even opening co-op markets to feed the community. Riots sometimes erupted when they targeted people breaking their boycott. In this lecture, historian Catherine Cangany recovers a forgotten moment in Michigan’s culinary past.

Exploring and Enjoying E-biking: What to know, where to ride, how to get started! with Cathy and Tom Reischl

Imagine pedaling on a smooth and scenic rail trail through a pine forest, along a lake shore or river rapids, and past farm fields. Imagine riding your e-bike for daily errands or for commuting to work (sweat-free!) while managing the hills with ease and reducing your impact on the environment. This session offers information on how to choose an electric battery-assist bike that will be safe and comfortable for you. Local e-bike enthusiasts, Cathy and Tom Reischl, will share their experiences and offer guidelines for navigating in town and finding scenic trails.

KYLYN Festival | Imperial Moods: Mid-Century Music and the Cold War, with Manan Desai

Desai's presentation explores U.S. media representations of the Third World, the global bloc of decolonizing nations in Asia and Africa during the Cold War, through the development of the mid-century music genre known as Exotica. Emerging after the Second World War, Exotica was a popular form of ersatz “world music” which, he argues, responded to anxieties around racial integration and the decolonizing world.
