Starting on October 1st, drop off your gently used, clean Halloween costumes to any Library branch. Then, on October 22nd, come pick out a new costume for this year!
This is a wonderful chance to save money, clear your closet, and pick out something snazzy for this year. Costumes for all ages and sizes are appreciated. We'll also be doing a kids' craft!

This year’s Día de la Familia (Family Day) event features entertainment, games, crafts, food, and face painting. Health information addressing mental, physical, and social issues in the Latino/a community will also be addressed.
This event takes place during National Hispanic Heritage Month and is co-sponsored by the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center Community Outreach Program.
Celebrate Chinese New Year at AADL! There will be Lion and Ribbon Dance performances. You can learn to use a Chinese Yaogu drum, make fun crafts, and take home a traditional Chinese treat.
This program is in partnership with the Ann-Hua Chinese School in Ann Arbor.
Join fellow space exploration enthusiasts to watch the next manned mission to the ISS. Launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan will be early in the morning, so we'll play a replay. Then we'll watch LIVE coverage on the big screen of the docking of Soyuz TMA-19M that is bringing NASA astronaut Tim Kopra, ESA astronaut Tim Peake (British), and Yuri Malenchenko of Roscosmos to the ISS to begin Expedition 46. Sergey Volkov, Mikhail Korniyenko and Scott Kelly are to transfer from Expedition 45 as part of their year-long stay aboard the ISS. Enjoy light refreshments and share the excitement of another mission to humanity's home in low Earth orbit!

Decorate a card, then write a note to a friend or loved one and send it off! We'll have everything you need to mail a sweet hand-written note, including stamps!
Bring your robot costume from yesterday’s event or dress in your zaniest costume and join in the Parade of Festive Foolishness!
We will leave the Downtown Library at 3:40 pm to march together towards Main Street to join in the FestiFools fun.
Parents are highly encouraged to don whatever ridiculous garb they can find. Think foolish! Think bright colors!

Join us in making spring seed bombs using local wildflower seeds! These "throw and grow" flowers can be planted just about anywhere, and will be sure to add a playful pop to your spring garden!
