Letterpress lab

This weekly lab will introduce you to the process and the materials for printing by hand on a cylinder proof press and small platen press. AADL staff will show you the basics and we’ll explore more advanced printing techniques with special guests. No prior experience necessary. Supplies are provided. You can return every Wednesday to work on multi-week projects. This program involves direct handling of lead-based type and is therefore not suitable for small children.

Repeated Pattern Screen Printing with Shayla Johnson

In this 3 hour workshop, Shayla Johnson of Scarlet Crane Creations will show you how to create a repeatable pattern and print your very own design on fabric. We'll use paper stencil techniques to prepare the screen and print on white fabric. You will leave with a small length of fabric that is as elegant or whimsical as you like! Bring along your own one-color designs or choose from our selection of artwork to get started.

No experience necessary, all materials are provided.
